Melanie Weber

Mel brings her work ethic, dedication and 25 years experience training, breeding, showing, and rescuing dogs to our clinic. Now, add to that her 12 years as a kennel manager, 3 years as President of the Badger Kennel Club, a “glad to meet you” personality and a love of animals that doesn’t stop. Mel’s family includes husband, Jeff, 9 children (4 adopted following the tragic death of their parents in an accident), and a veritable menagerie of 4-legged friends. She is responsible for overseeing grooming, training and behavioral issues, kennel and medical staff, co- managing the clinic with Liz.

Elizabeth Okas

Liz was introduced to veterinary practices early in life, her grandfather was a clinic manager in Rockford, Illinois in the 1960’s. Born and raised in Beloit, she attended UW Whitewater before coming to Madison in 1982. She contributes not only her bright smile and love of animals, but also her 25 years experience as a Practice Manager to our clinic. She oversees and coordinates the hospital, kennel, and day care, co- manages the clinic with Mel. Liz shares her home with Tessie, a 16 year old doxie/poodle mix who was paralyzed in an accident at age 3.

Janeen Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith is a veterinarian with 21 years in practice. A co-owner of our clinic, she runs her own clinic in Verona, Wisconsin, and has for the past 16 years.

She has been an innovator, from initiating a house call practice to embracing the latest veterinary techniques. Dr. Smith contributes her business experience to our clinic.
